What are holistic therapies?

Holistic therapies are therapies that consider the living being as a whole from the single cell to the most complex and highly specialized systems it entails, such as the cardiovascular, nervous, digestive and respiratory systems.

While allopathic medicine is linked to the treatment of specific diseases or dysfunctional organs with drugs, those very drugs intended to heal may possess very harmful side effects.

On the other hand, holistic therapies address the "mind-body" as a whole, through different techniques transmitted mostly through ancient oriental medicines.

The motto governing western medicine is "Primum non nocere" (First, do no harm) is far from being the rule and there have been a lot of dramas engendered by the introduction of new pharmaceutical drugs on the market. Have you heard about Thalidomide? When prescribed to pregnant women they delivered abnormal babies with body malformations. There is a major risk of sudden death for people under psychotropic medication due to a lengthening of the QT interval, ventricular arrhytmia and the existence of torsades de pointe on their ECG. Such people’s mortality rate due to sudden death or for cardio-vascular reasons is far higher than that of the global population.

Do you know that 50% of patients treated with antidepressants (especially SSRI selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors like Prozac(fluoxetine), Paxil (paroxetine), Lexapro (citalopram), Luvox (fluvoxamine)  present important sexual problems? (Rotschild A.J Clin. Ther. 2000, 22, Am. J. Psychiatry 1995, Oct.)

Dangerous side effects of holistic medicine have yet to be proven.

At the International Institute for Self-help Holistic Therapies we use the knowledge transmitted by ancient oriental doctors about "shakras", "energy meridians" and acupuncture points combined with Doctor Roger Callahan's discoveries concerning perturbations in the "Thoughfield" linked to the energy meridians and shakras. We establish the sequential code of acupuncture points that the subject has to tap in order to erase those perturbations and remove the perturbations in his thought fields  through proper activation of his energy pathways.

All data gathered through monitoring of HRV demonstrate that TFT has a direct action on the ANS (autonomic nervous system) and corrects its imbalance. It is because of this action on the ANS that TFT is effective so quickly - on the whole of the “mind-body” through the rebalancing of the major apparels. (Atrial flutter, gastro-intestinal pains and spasms, migraines and muscular tensions are the first to go.)

We also use (neurolinguistic programming) NLP's procedures to control and repair the damage done to the mind-body. Those procedures are based on the use of language, imagery and kinesthetic feelings to overcome dysfunction and allow the mind-body to heal.

Many people reject holistic medicine on the grounds that nothing can prove the relationship between the cause, the patient's intervention on his own energy system, and his healing. They even go so far as to say that those energy meridians do not exist.

We like to quote here the experiment of French Professor of Medicine Dr de Vernejoul: he injected the radioactive element "Technetium" at a meridian point. On the radiographies taken one could see that the injected product was distributed throughout the whole body on lines corresponding to the energy meridians, while another injection made outside the meridians showed the Technetium staying concentrated in a cluster at the injection point.

Now cutting edge C-Fos antigenic  reaction can precisely show the production and localization of endorphins released in the brain following stimulation of acupuncture points.

Another way to render objective the benefits of TFT Techniques is to measure the Heart Rate Variability before and after treatment.
