Stress
Elimination
Stress
management
is the concept widely accepted when it comes to dealing with stress.
Literally it means that no one expects stress to disappear and only that
tools will be proposed to curb its dangerous effects. Those tools are,
among others, cognitive reframing or restructuring, negotiation skills,
meta-positioning skills…
Stress
reduction
is the goal aimed at after actions are taken
against stress in the
workplace following an audit. To achieve this, changes in the workplace
such as better communication, better working
conditions, social support, conflict resolution, responsibilities
taking, building of a corporate culture will be promoted. (see stress
audit)
Stress elimination
is a
concept that we deem realisable with the use of Voice Technology
conjugated with stress reduction measures. The power of Voice Technology
is such that it changes one’s self-concept and even when other measures
have not yet been applied external condition will just glide over, like
on Teflon.
Using
Callahan Techniques Voice Technology can have a direct and
sustainable influence on the autonomic nervous system by restoring the
balance between the sympathetic and the parasympathetic nerves.
Stress causes sympathetic nerve stimulation with release of adrenaline,
the “fight-flight” or “fight-fright” response: the heart
accelerates and blood flow is rerouted from the brain and viscera to the
muscles -for action! Continuous stress with the release of cortisol
leads to diabetes, overweight, hypertension, cardiac diseases,
psychosomatic illnesses that adds to anxiety, chain smoking, memory
problems, loss of personal control, restless sleep, swing moods, fits of
temper, depression and even cancer. Brain damage, though reversible,
occurs with shrinking of the amygdala, a part of the brain that has
recently been proved essential to memory conservation.
Our
well-being depends on a constant balance between the vital functions of
our body (called homeostasis and exerted by the autonomic nervous
system or
ANS), which controls the circulatory, digestive, respiratory,
immune systems via the vagus and sympathetic nerves. After stress, the
vagus nerve is activated to counterbalance the response of the
sympathetic. This is the “rest and restoration response”: a release of
acetylcholine slows the heart, the blood flow is redirected from the
muscles to the brain for thinking and to the viscera for digestion.
Continuous stress lowers the vagal tone and response is weak.
The
measurement of heart rate variability (HRV), a cutting edge technology,
non-invasive and fast heart examination, can tell precisely the
condition of the
ANS. Poor figures are currently considered in
cardiology as a predictor for the risk of sudden death. Only
some of the newest
anti-depressants, with their secondary effects, are able to raise
slightly HRV
figures. Practising physical exercises and stopping smoking can
also
increase our HRV by 20%.
HRV
comparative measurement demonstrated
CT-TFT (Callahan Techniques)
to be the best and fastest way of
strengthening HRV figures by reinforcing the vagal tone. As a
consequence heart conductivity is balanced and the immune system, under
the control of
ANS, is boosted.
Associated, when needed, with changes on the personal level
(implementing a healthier way of life with special attention given to
the nutritional and physical aspects) the effect of a Voice
Technology self-help treatment
and cardiac coherence
will equate to a general reset of the
autonomic nervous system.
This
reset is evidence-based and called the Vashilo’s effect that can be read
through a special spike on the HRV curves.
Associated with a lifestyle change this effect is sustainable.
Is
extending your span of life worthwhile?
To
achieve stress elimination on the general level we propose:
-
Individual and group coaching
-
Development of communication skills to prevent systematic opposition
and become more persuasive and influential
-
Goal setting techniques
-
Negotiation techniques aiming at win-win outcomes;
-
Elimination of limiting beliefs, mental blocks or internal conflicts;
-
Group cohesion through team awareness and conflict management
Our
tools are:
-
Voice Technology and CT-TFT techniques
-
Neurolinguistic programming, cognitivo-behavioural and systemic
approaches
